On May 29, 2013, the Restoration Institute is hosting a Decision Making for Novel Ecosystems workshop. The workshop is co-facilitated by Professor Eric Higgs (School of Environmental Studies, University of Victoria) and Dr Tara Martin(Senior Scientist, CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences, Australia, Adjunct Professor University of British Columbia and University of Queensland).
The goal of this workshop is to bring together practitioners and researchers in conservation decision making, ecology and environmental science to explore the implications of novel ecosystems and how we might go about managing these ecosystems now and in the future.
The Restoration Institute is also continuing to develop the New Natures Network, a global partnership of researchers, practitioners and students to understand and explore the cultural and social dimensions of rapid ecosystem change.
